Chicago Transit Authority is seeking a Senior Technician to inspect rail cars, interpret specifications, and support design/construction phases of new equipment or overhaul projects. Qualifikationen

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of verifiable work experience in bus or rail car repair, modification, and construction.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid State of Illinois driver’s license.
• Required to submit to and pass drug and alcohol testing as mandated by the Federal Transportation Administration.

Aufgaben

• Inspects various vehicle assembly and testing processes.
• Performs quality audits.
• Performs final inspection of vehicles before the vehicles are sent to CTA.
• Communicates with the vendor and CTA staff to resolve issues at the manufacturing facility.
• Performs senior level technician troubleshooting and repairs.
• Assists in the development and preparation of specifications for passenger vehicles and major subsystem equipment.
• Maintains familiarity with rail car equipment and current technology to ensure proper maintenance.
