Job summary

TYLin in Philadelphia seeks a Senior Communication System Designer to lead the design and delivery of communications and Operations Technology (OT) systems for rail and transit programs across Philadelphia, New York, and the Northeast. The role requires strong technical judgment and collaboration with engineers, clients, and other disciplines.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in communications systems, rail/transit, or related field.
Experience delivering communications systems for rail/transit projects.
Experience developing detailed engineering/design documentation (drawings, specs, diagrams).
Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design platforms; BIM/Revit is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead and perform the design and technical delivery of communications and OT systems for complex rail and transit projects.
Develop communications systems designs from concept through final design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.
Prepare contract drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and other technical documentation for construction.
Design and coordinate transit communications systems including fiber, wireless, CCTV, PIS, CAD/AVL, SCADA, PACS, and more.
Review designs for quality, constructability, and compliance with requirements.
Develop system architecture, network diagrams, layouts, and interconnection diagrams.
