Job summary

Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster, CA is seeking a Radiology Technologist II to perform a wide range of radiographic procedures with independence. You will prepare rooms, assist patients, and ensure high quality diagnostic imaging while following radiation safety guidelines.

The role requires ARRT and California CRT certification, fluoroscopy credentials, and BLS. Prior hospital radiology experience is preferred, with flexibility to work across locations and shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Graduated from ARRT Accredited Radiological Technology Program.
• CRT State of California certification.
• RT ARRT certification.
• Fluoroscopy certification.
• Venipuncture preferred.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Be on your feet 95% of the time and physically able to assist in lifting patients from stretchers and wheelchairs to and from the x-ray table.
• Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, walking or standing with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a shift.
• Prepares room, equipment and materials for radiograph/procedure.
• Courteously greets, identify and introduce yourself to the patients and escorts to and from exam room.
• Prepare patient for exam, discuss and explain procedure to patient.
• Perform radiographic exams and procedures using proper technique.
• Positions patient in safe and proper manner for exam.
• Assist the patient before, during, and after the procedure as needed. Prepare contrast material as required.
• Maintain observation of patient and equipment for duration of exam. Does not exceed department’s repeat rate standard.
• Follows guidelines for radiation protection for patient and staff while maintaining quality of diagnostic imaging.
• Qualified to perform radiographic procedures in OR, ER, Nursing Floors, portable procedures, and within the department and process exams.
• Willing to work in any area, and flexible in meeting the needs of the department.
• Evaluate radiographs for good quality.
• Uses good technical/patient skills.
• Uses proper work methods with injured patients.
• Demonstrates knowledge regarding age specific groups.
• Participates in age-specific educational training programs.
• Demonstrates proficiency in required age-specific competencies.
• Willing to work in any area and flexible in meeting the needs of the department.
