Job summary

Nusano is seeking a Senior R&D Radiochemist to lead end-to-end isotope production development and to design complex experiments at our West Valley City facility. You will apply QbD principles, mentor early-career scientists, and resolve cross-functional technical issues to advance new isotope products and improve existing processes.

This onsite role emphasizes collaboration across functions, rigorous documentation, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards in a fast-paced research

Qualifications

• PhD or MS with substantial relevant experience in radiochemistry or related field.
• Experience owning complex development workstreams.
• Ability to work in a regulated environment and ensure data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution and troubleshooting of chemistry development workstreams.
• Design and execute complex experiments, analyze data, and recommend next steps for assigned workstream.
• Apply QbD principles and lead risk-based assessments for assigned programs.
• Drive continuous improvement of chemistry processes and workflows.
• Support benchtop-to-hot cell scale-up activities and process hand-off to Operations.
• Coordinate with safety and other experts to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements for new product development and production.
• Provide subject matter expertise during cross-functional investigations and technical discussions.
• Mentor early-career scientists
• Provide guidance in experimental execution, data analysis, and documentation.
• Provide guidance on laboratory best practices, safety, and compliance.
• Support development and delivery of staff training for experiment execution and data analysis.
• Support onboarding of new staff through informal coaching.
• Technical documentation
• Generate high-quality technical documentation, including development reports and experimental records.
• Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and ensure data integrity through peer review.
• Follow chemical and radiological safety procedures and support continuous improvement of safe laboratory practices.
