Job summary

Teck Resources Limited seeks a Senior Telecommunications Specialist to design, upgrade, and maintain VHF/UHF radio networks at Red Dog. You will plan projects, provide technical leadership, and collaborate with site teams to meet business objectives.

The role requires extensive hands-on radio system work, safety leadership, and travel to remote sites. Compensation reflects seniority and Alaska mining operations, with a rotating on/off-site schedule.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of experience with VHF/UHF radio systems.
• Four years of experience in highly technical, solid-state circuit design.
• Valid driver’s license.
• General radio Telephone license or APCO certification.
• Experience with MOTOTRBO Capacity Plus Multi-Site installations.

Responsibilities

• Be a courageous safety leader and enforce safety/environmental rules.
• Manage MOTOTRBO Capacity Plus multi-site deployment (9 shelters, 22 repeaters).
• Program, configure, and update radios using Motorola tools.
• Plan projects, design systems, and maintain documentation for radio networks.
• Perform tower, antenna, site maintenance and inspections.
• Travel to remote sites by unimproved roads or helicopter.
• Lead by example to ensure safe and healthy working conditions.
