Job summary

UCI Health invites applications for a Radiation Therapist to deliver daily treatments in the radiation oncology department. You will schedule patients, operate the accelerator and simulator equipment, and document treatments with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to safely and accurately operate radiation therapy equipment, linear accelerators, simulators and computers.
• Must possess ARRT/CRT in Radiation Therapy.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to work on-call rotation and variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily treatments in the linear accelerator, NOMOS, and simulator rooms.
• Schedule patients to optimize time slot use and efficiency.
• Take port films on all patients and review results with physicians.
• Review treatment plan, dosimetry and chart before initial treatment.
• Operate radiation therapy equipment and QC equipment reliably.
• Document patient treatment and assist with billing processes.
• Notify physician of any concerns regarding patient condition.
• Maintain films and medical records; purge files as required.
