The Nuclear Company is seeking a Senior Radiation Protection Specialist to provide field leadership, draw on deep RP expertise, and ensure safe execution on nuclear outages and maintenance projects across the United States.

The role emphasizes coaching RP technicians, upholding ALARA principles, and interfacing with customer Radiation Protection organizations, project leadership, and operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of Radiation Protection experience in commercial nuclear power or equivalent.
• Previous experience as Senior RP Technician, Lead RP Technician, RP Supervisor, or comparable roles.
• Knowledge of radiation protection fundamentals, contamination control, surveys, dosimetry, ALARA, and radiological work controls.
• Working knowledge of NRC requirements, including 10 CFR Part 20.
• Ability to read and apply Radiation Work Permits, procedures, and survey maps.
• Experience performing independent radiological job coverage in industrial and nuclear environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the United States.

Responsabilités

• Provide senior-level Radiation Protection support for outages, maintenance, and specialty work.
• Perform radiological coverage in Radiation Areas, High Radiation Areas, and other controlled environments.
• Conduct radiation, contamination, and airborne radioactivity surveys per site procedures.
• Maintain radiological boundaries, postings, controls, and access requirements.
• Support personnel monitoring, dosimetry, contamination control, and material controls.
• Monitor radiological conditions and communicate hazards and necessary controls.
• Stop work if radiological conditions or practices are noncompliant.
• Support response to radiological events and evolving conditions.
• Lead/participate in ALARA planning and job briefs.
