Job Description Summary

The Contested Environment System Analysis group is seeking a Senior-level Radiation Analysis Engineer to support cross‑disciplinary teams to solve complex system architecture, requirements, and analysis challenges driven by radiation environments. Candidates should have hands‑on experience with radiation effects on materials and electronics and be able to translate those effects into practical implications for system design. The candidate will be expected to work effectively in a team environment, mentor junior engineers, and communicate progress and results through published reports and presentations. This role requires at least 60 percent time on‑site in either Cambridge, MA or Clearfield, UT.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Support engineering decisions based on radiation effects on overall system performance.
  • Design harden and verify performance of systems across multiple radiation effects, including dose rate, total ionizing dose (TID), neutron displacement damage (NDD), and single event effects (SEE).
  • Support interdisciplinary teams to ensure that radiation hardening is maintained across the product lifecycle.
  • Drive solutions to complex problems with limited direction—contribute to task planning and technical development, propose ways forward, and adapt appropriately to changes in program requirements.
  • Lead small teams (fewer than five people), aligning them toward program goals and building trust within the team.
  • Provide insight and design modifications based on analysis outcomes, and apply analysis techniques across a range of technical challenges.
  • Identify program/system‑level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Education

Requires a Bachelor’s in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or other relevant field. A Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.

Experience

Requires 5‑7 years of Radiation Engineering or related experience.

Additional Job Description

Applicants selected for this position must obtain and maintain a government security clearance. A Current In Scope Secret Clearance is required.
