Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Radar Research and Development Scientist (Senior Project Engineer – Signal & Image Process Engineering) to lead advanced RADAR programs for GEOINT. The role requires hands-on work on site in Chantilly, VA and involves directing analysis, architecture development, and coordination with government customers and contractors.

Ideal candidates will have a technical degree with 6+ years in SAR systems, signal processing, and hardware design using FPGAs/GPUs,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years post-bachelor experience; experience with SAR space-based systems is required.
  • Security clearance (TS/SSBI/SCI) and U.S. citizenship are required.
  • Experience with signal processing and system architecture for SAR space-based systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead analysis and develop recommendations for future RADAR systems and architectures.
  • Coordinate development and implementation of electronic protection across the customer community.
  • Communicate issues and provide independent recommendations to Aerospace management and customers.
  • Mentor SETA and customer representatives in program execution.
  • Identify research opportunities to advance GEOINT RADAR technology.
