Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for Radar Modeling (Onsite) in Sterling, VA. You will lead the development of high-fidelity radar models, integrate with distributed simulations, and guide real-time software efforts across platforms.

The role requires strong C/C++ OO skills, radar domain knowledge, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. Collaboration with Collins Aerospace teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Must be able to obtain DoD security clearance and pass government investigations.
• Extensive experience with radar software development and radar concepts for simulation.
• Proven leadership in a team environment and ability to drive complex technical solutions.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and OO programming.

Responsibilities

• Support high-fidelity radar models in flight simulation training systems.
• Build, update and maintain radar models in host simulation code.
• Integrate with distributed simulation environments and APIs.
• Design, develop, test and debug real-time, multi-threaded software.
• May manage small projects or processes.
