Job summary

Leidos in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to operate and maintain a complex radar system in support of Defense Systems Land Systems. The role requires ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance and occasional travel to remote facilities to repair or replace system equipment.

You will work closely with Leidos engineers, perform system integration and checkout, analyze failures, maintain records, and operate with minimal supervision in the field.

Qualifications

• Active DoD SECRET clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or 8+ years total experience.
• Formal training in electronics, RF theory and related principles.
• Testing and troubleshooting experience with digital, analog and RF electronics.
• Knowledge of military communications and encryption devices.
• Proficiency with standard test equipment and Windows/Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, operate, troubleshoot and repair a complex radar system.
• Assemble RF/coaxial/cable assemblies and electronic chassis.
• Perform system integration and checkout of equipment.
• Analyze failures to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain equipment records, inventories and preventive maintenance programs.
• Travel to remote facilities and work in adverse weather conditions.
