Job summary

Raytheon’s Advanced Surveillance Systems team is seeking a Senior RADAR Field Engineer to support operational maintenance of surveillance systems in the National Capital Region (NCR). The role requires travel to Andrews AFB Base, MD, and may involve alternating shifts and on-call duties.

The ideal candidate holds a STEM degree, 8+ years of relevant experience, and an active U.S. security clearance. Strong technical writing and field troubleshooting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) required.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
• Experience operating, maintaining and/or troubleshooting radar systems or similar surveillance equipment.
• Experience with radar software operations and system testing.
• Experience with control systems, cabling, fiber optics, and interconnect diagrams.
• Ability to read test plans, drawings, specifications, and vendor docs.

Responsibilities

• Routine travel to SIL for System Familiarization/Orientation.
• Alternate/non-standard shifts, on-call shifts, or non-standard schedules.
• Overnight travel within the NCR on a recurring basis; extended CONUS travel.
• Monitor/operate systems; perform preventive maintenance; provide on-call response.
• Maintain shift and equipment logs; document field activities.
• Prepare Field Engineering Notebooks and input data for publications.
