Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Principal R&D Project Manager for the Navigation Platform based in Boston, MA, with responsibility for planning and executing complex, cross-functional projects in a regulated medical device environment.

You will own the integrated schedule, budget, RAID, and design controls, coordinating across software, hardware, clinical, quality, and regulatory teams to achieve phase-gate readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience in regulated class II and product development environments.
• Experience with phase-gate execution and design controls in a QMS environment.
• Deep understanding of regulated medical device development and phase-gate execution.
• Cross-functional programs across software, systems, and hardware with integrated planning.

Responsibilities

• Own project planning baselines (WBS, IMS) for Navigation projects.
• Manage schedule, critical path, milestones, and weekly status reporting.
• Manage project budget baselines, actuals, forecasts and EVM, for reviews.
• Maintain RAID log with proactive mitigation and cross-project escalation.
• Lead weekly core team meetings and drive action/decision tracking.
• Drive design controls and DDP execution to support regulatory and quality expectations.
• Coordinate phase-gate readiness and toll-gate submissions with stakeholders.
• Manage change requests (scope/schedule/cost) per governance.
