JC Ford - Tennessee is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer, R&D to join our team. The role focuses on hands-on product design, analysis, and development of new capital machinery products with cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate should have strong machine design knowledge, excellent communication, and a detail-oriented, analytical mindset. The position requires leading a team of engineers and CAD designers while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university.
• 8+ years of relevant experience with BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant experience with MS in Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop product requirements and specification documents.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), and Design for Manufacturing Assembly (DFMA).
• Design components to be manufactured via machining, sheet metal bending/rolling, welding, CNC machining and other related processes using Autodesk Inventor CAD models and drawings.
• Create and release product Bills of Materials.
• Perform tolerance analyses.
• Develop test procedures, conduct product testing, and design validation for production.
• Travel to customer locations as needed to troubleshoot issues and ensure project schedules.
