Job summary

Saint-Gobain/CertainTeed Gypsum R&D is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer in Materials Formulation to develop, optimize, and scale gypsum-based and adjacent building-material formulations. The role bridges materials science, formulation design, analytical characterization, process development, and formulation-to-manufacturing transfer.

The successful candidate will translate lab-scale formulation science into scalable outcomes by building structure–property–process relationships and applying

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree with typically 7 years of experience or a Master’s with 3 years; PhD with experience preferred.
• Hands-on industrial research experience is required.
• Strong project leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.
• Experience in formulation, process development, and materials characterization is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate lab-scale formulation science into scalable product and process outcomes.
• Build structure–property–process relationships using DoE and statistical methods.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, product management, and suppliers to transfer to production.
