Job summary

RHI Magnesita N.V. is seeking a Senior Non-Basic R&D Engineer to join our York, Pennsylvania team. The role advances non-basic refractory products from lab concepts to industrial implementation, collaborating across R&D, Operations, Quality, Marketing, and Sales.

You will drive innovations, optimize manufacturing processes, and support customer success, while coordinating trials and leading technicians in a dynamic, global organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Ceramic Engineering, Chemistry, Engineering, or related discipline is required.
• Candidates with strong engineering background and ceramics/refractory knowledge encouraged to apply.
• 5–8 years of experience in ceramics, materials, refractory, or related manufacturing industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve non-basic refractory products from lab to full-scale production.
• Identify opportunities for new technologies and process improvements through collaboration and research.
• Lead and support laboratory-scale research and innovation projects.
• Coordinate plant trials with Operations and Quality teams.
• Oversee raw materials and production trials to evaluate new formulations.
