Job summary

Broadcom seeks a Principal Software Engineer to design and develop the Network Operating System (NOS) on a switch/router platform. You will collaborate with marketing, architects, software test, and silicon teams to deliver high-quality software and test it rigorously.

You will work with Broadcom's advanced switching ASICs and engage with large customers to define requirements, write clear documentation, and contribute to open-source ecosystems such as FBOSS or SONiC.

Qualifications

• BS or MS with extensive networking software experience; strong understanding of NOS/SDN applications.
• Experience with open networking OSS like FBOSS or SONiC is a plus.
• Clear communication with large customers and cross-functional teams is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and program the forwarding plane for the NOS on switch/router platforms.
• Work on end-to-end features including compilation, integration, and debugging of the Network Operating System.
• Collaborate closely with large customers to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Engage in cross-functional teamwork with SQA and support teams.
• Maintain a high standard of documentation for code and system designs.
• Participate actively in open-source software development environments and contribute to related projects.
