Johnson & Johnson is recruiting a Senior Engineer, R&D to join the MedTech Surgery group in the Aesthetics & Reconstruction portfolio at the Raritan, NJ site with an alternate Irving, TX location. The role leads cross-functional teams to develop breast implants and related products, within regulatory requirements.

The position emphasizes design verification/validation, collaboration with clinicians and regulatory teams, and advancing IP with travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Biomedical/Chemical engineering or related field.
• 2–4+ years in medical device R&D or related roles.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization, design and development of devices for commercialization.
• Contribute to design extensions and product improvements.
• Lead tests per lab best practices for verification/validation.
• Translate user needs into design requirements and specs.
• Collaborate with clinicians and internal customers to validate designs.
• Coordinate and participate in design reviews and peer reviews.
• Potentially supervise engineers/technicians and manage partners.
