Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in Irving, TX is seeking a Staff Engineer, R&D to lead design and development of breast implants and related devices. You’ll drive engineering efforts, meet regulatory milestones and advance products through design control in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

The role requires a strong mechanical or biomedical background with 8+ years in medical devices, plus hands-on leadership and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or biomedical engineering.
• 8+ years' experience in medical devices or regulated fields.
• Experience with Design Controls (CFR 820.30) and statistics.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and manufacturing activities for breast implants and related devices.
• Apply core engineering principles to support research and development and meet milestones.
• Manage projects, timelines and budgets while communicating risks to management.
• Collaborate with surgeons, regulatory, and commercial teams to meet unmet needs.
• Coordinate with supply chain and vendors to advance concepts to transfer to production.
• Support regulatory submissions and audits as a technical SME.
