Job summary

Intralox is seeking a Lead Engineer to anchor the Advanced Research & Development team, translating ambiguous needs into actionable requirements and driving prototypes to handoff. You will own the system architecture across mechanical, controls, and software, mentoring engineers and guiding the technology roadmap.

You will partner with the Advanced R&D Manager and Business Development Engineers to ground technical decisions in real customer problems and manage the innovation funnel toward

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of engineering and product development leadership in complex electromechanical or automation systems.
• Breadth across mechanical, controls, and software with system architect experience.
• Experience in industrial automation, logistics, warehouse automation, or material handling; exposure to AI/robotics.
• Travel 10-20% to customer facilities for prototype installation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Turn early-stage ambiguity into technical clarity for fast, focused development.
• Define requirements from ambiguous customer needs and ground them in real problems.
• Own the system architecture across mechanical, controls, and software domains.
• Lead rapid prototyping and fieldable prototypes for customer sites.
• Mentor engineers, raise technical rigor, and align with the Vee model and downstream handoff.
