Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a cleared Senior/Principal R&D Electrical Engineer for the Mk21 AFA Product Realization Team (PRT) onsite in Albuquerque, NM. This role advances design, development, qualification, and production support for the Arming and Fuzing Assembly (AFA) with cross-functional collaboration across Sandia and KCNSC.

The ideal candidate possesses a BS in a relevant field with five years of experience and an active DOE Q clearance, with additional graduate work and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Active DOE Q-level security clearance or equivalent (e.g., DoD Top Secret).
• Experience with nuclear weapon design or related fields is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support resolution of technical and programmatic challenges related to design, development, qualification, and production.
• Identify and manage technical risks; analyze system performance against requirements.
• Plan, report progress relative to program plan; collaborate with teams across Sandia and KCNSC.
• Update design definitions and documentation.
