Job summary

American Refining Group Inc. seeks a Sr. R&D Chemist to design new products, develop analytical methods, and support refinery analytical needs. The role involves using HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, ED-XRF, and ICP-OES, plus maintaining instruments and methods.

You will collaborate with the commercial team, present projects to management, and help advance safety and quality initiatives across R&D and QC labs.

Qualifications

• MS in Chemistry or BS with 5+ years related experience.
• Proficient in SPC, analytical instrumental analysis, method development.
• Strong computer and electronics skills; DOE and statistics experience.
• Ability to perform all R&D chemist I & II duties and identify improvement areas.

Responsibilities

• Designs new products and technology; develops solutions and advises management.
• Performs method development and routine analyses using UV-Vis, FTIR, HPLC, GC, ED-XRF, ICP-OES.
• Maintains analytical instrumentation and calibration/verification of methods.
• Supports instrument maintenance in R&D and QC labs.
• Develops and conducts Gage R&R of analytical procedures in R&D and QC.
• Interfaces with commercial team members and customers as required.
• Presents technical projects to senior management.
