Experis is seeking a Sr Research & Development Associate for a Montvale, NJ hybrid role. The contract is 8 months with possible extension, paying $70–$75 per hour on a W2 basis.

The role leads formulation and product development from concept to commercialization within a fast-moving FMCG environment. Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in R&D, formulation, or product development in Consumer Goods (not Pharma)
• Strong FMCG product development background in Consumer Goods (surface care, laundry, personal care)
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple workstreams in parallel
• Experience supporting innovation pipelines and fast-paced product launches

Responsibilities

• Lead formulation and product development from concept through commercialization, ensuring speed-to-market in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
• Design and execute lab experiments, performance testing, and stability studies independently as a technical SME on cross-functional teams.
• Drive problem-solving and optimization to meet performance, cost, and regulatory requirements, while supporting scale-up and manufacturing transfer.
• Collaborate across functions (Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing) and mentor junior team members to uphold best practices and compliance.

• Author technical documentation and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout development processes.

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree minimuminChemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field
• 5+ years of experiencein R&D, formulation, or product development in Consumer Goods (not Pharma: if that's your only industry experience it won't be a fit)
• Strong background inFMCG product development in Consumer Goods(surface care, laundry, personal care)
• Proven ability towork autonomouslyand manage multiple workstreams in parallel and demonstrated experience supportinginnovation pipelines and fast-paced product launches
• Nice to have but not required: Spanish language,global product development
