Job summary

Atom Computing in Boulder is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to enhance software development workflows and maintain the critical infrastructure powering our quantum computer. The role spans on-prem and cloud, requiring in-office work three days per week and close collaboration with engineers and physicists under the Software Engineering Manager.

You will administer Linux servers and Windows VMs, design automated workflows, and improve monitoring, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment efficiency,

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent on-the-job experience.
• 5+ years of post-degree professional experience maintaining large scale distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain a fleet of on-premise Linux servers (and a few Windows VMs) to ensure reliable and performant operation of the quantum computing environment.
• Design and implement automated workflows for managing and scaling cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
• Build and optimize monitoring, alerting, and performance metrics systems to support both development and production environments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and improve deployment efficiency.
