Job summary

Atom Computing, Inc. in Boulder, CO is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to scale our on‑prem and cloud infrastructure for quantum workloads. You’ll automate workflows, optimize CI/CD, and keep the system reliable and low‑latency, working with engineers and physicists under the Software Engineering Manager.

Requires 5+ years in large distributed systems, strong cloud fundamentals, and hands-on with Proxmox, Docker/Podman, Terraform, and Kubernetes. On‑site 3 days/week.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent on-the-job experience.
• 5+ years of post-degree professional experience maintaining large scale distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain on-premise Linux servers and Windows VMs for the quantum environment.
• Design and implement automated workflows for cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
• Build monitoring and metrics systems using Datadog or Grafana to support development and production.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and deployment efficiency.
