About the Role

Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. The successful candidate will provide cost management and commercial support on high-tech manufacturing projects, with a focus on semiconductor tool installation. This role requires strong technical understanding and the ability to interpret complex mechanical, electrical, and process drawings to ensure accurate cost planning, budgeting, and change management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage payment applications, including review, assessment, and certification.
  • Assess, value, and negotiate change orders and variations.
  • Produce cost estimates, detailed cost plans, and benchmarking data.
  • Prepare and maintain project forecasts, including final cost projections.
  • Monitor project budgets and track cost performance against approved budgets.
  • Identify cost variances and provide early warning of risks.
  • Support forecasting, earned value reporting, and commercial risk management activities.
  • Ensure cost reporting accuracy and alignment with project controls and governance requirements.
  • Support procurement activities, including preparation of bid packages and tender documentation.
  • Perform bid evaluations and commercial analysis of contractor proposals.
  • Participate in commercial negotiations with contractors and vendors.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies.
  • Administer contracts in accordance with agreed terms and conditions.
  • Evaluate variations, change orders, and claims.
  • Review and certify contractor payments and final accounts.
  • Ensure contractual compliance and effective risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with project managers, contractors, vendors, and client stakeholders to support project delivery objectives.
  • Provide commercial input to support project decision-making and execution.
  • Prepare regular cost reports, cashflow forecasts, and financial summaries.
  • Maintain accurate project cost data and reporting systems.
  • Ensure consistency and transparency in reporting to internal and client stakeholders.
  • Identify risks and opportunities related to cost and commercial performance.
  • Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
