Job summary

Moog Inc. in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Senior Quality Technician to lead root cause investigations and drive improvements in machining, inspection and process capability. The role focuses on reducing scrap and rework through technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration.

You will mentor teams, develop action plans, and support hardware-related activities while ensuring adherence to AS9100 quality practices. This is an onsite position with strong emphasis on problem solving.

Qualifications

• 5 years of manufacturing, mechanical or quality engineering experience.
• High School diploma or GED preferred; otherwise ability to understand and apply instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Investigate root cause of chronic scrap sources using machining, GD&T and inspection methods.
• Solve component and process problems using basic problem-solving skills.
• Support engineering by identifying problems and conducting experiments to solve complex issues.
• Collaborate with Performance Leaders, Quality engineering and other stakeholders on corrective actions.
• Manage RCCA action items and audit follow-ups.
• Develop non-complex production inspection plans for manufacturing and first article inspections.
• Perform complex inspections to verify drawing conformance, including first piece and final inspection.
• Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure workmanship and product performance.
• Audit processes to verify process capability and operator training; assist with decisions on product acceptance.
• Support hardware-related activities and training as needed.
