Aerospace Manufacturing

The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Senior Quality Technician to serve as a key technical resource within the quality function of a precision aerospace manufacturing operation.

This is a hands‑on, technical quality role—not a basic inspection position. We’re looking for someone with a strong manufacturing quality background who understands in-process inspection, can confidently use a variety of precision measuring equipment, and can investigate the root cause of quality issues.

You’ll work closely with machinists, engineering, programming, production, and quality while also serving as a technical resource for less experienced inspectors.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform source, first article, in-process, and final inspections

  • Inspect precision‑machined aerospace components to blueprint requirements

  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102

  • Use a variety of precision measuring equipment, including:

  • Micrometers

  • Calipers

  • Indicators and gauges

  • CMM

  • Optical comparator

  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, and specifications

  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings

  • Apply GD&T principles during inspection

  • Document inspection results accurately

Manufacturing Quality
  • Perform line and in‑process inspection throughout production
  • Identify dimensional and process‑related issues
  • Identify and document nonconformances
  • Work directly with machinists and production personnel to address quality concerns
  • Support first article and production inspection requirements
  • Help determine whether issues are related to tooling, setup, programming, material, or process
  • Work with production and quality personnel to support corrective actions
  • Help prevent recurring quality problems
Root Cause & Problem Solving
  • Investigate nonconforming parts and quality concerns
  • Participate in root cause analysis
  • Help identify corrective actions and process improvements
  • Communicate findings clearly to production, engineering, and quality leadership
  • Follow issues through resolution
Leadership & Training
  • Serve as a technical resource for less experienced inspectors
  • Train and mentor quality team members on inspection methods and equipment
  • Help establish consistent inspection practices across the team
  • Support the development of newer inspectors as they build their technical skills
  • Lead by example in quality, accuracy, and attention to detail
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous Quality Inspection or Quality Technician experience in manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of in-process/line inspection
  • Experience with FAI and AS9102
  • Proficiency using multiple precision measuring tools
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation
  • Experience with CMM and/or optical comparator
  • Experience identifying and documenting nonconformances
  • Ability to investigate quality problems and participate in root cause analysis
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with production and engineering teams
  • Ability and willingness to train and mentor less experienced inspectors
Strongly Preferred
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
  • Experience inspecting CNC-machined components
  • CMM programming or advanced CMM operation
  • Optical comparator experience
  • Corrective action and continuous improvement experience
  • Experience with demanding customer or source inspection requirements
Why You’ll Want to Work Here
