Job summary

Baker Engineering, LLC is seeking a Quality Process Engineer to design, implement, and maintain manufacturing and quality processes for precision CNC components. You will drive conformance, efficiency, and throughput across cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and supply chain.

The role emphasizes root cause analysis, SPC, and AS9100/ISO 9001 compliance, with hands-on metrology, training, and NPI support. On-site work in Muskegon, MI is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in CNC machining or precision manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of CNC processes, including milling and turning.
• Proficiency in GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
• Hands-on metrology with gauges and measurement systems.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and controlled documentation.
• Ability to work onsite in Muskegon, MI and pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality inspection plans for CNC-machined parts, including gauges and measurement systems.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for nonconformances.
• Monitor process capability using Cp, Cpk and SPC techniques.
• Ensure ISO 9001 and AS9100 compliance and support audits.
• Train operators on quality requirements, inspection techniques, and process controls.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and suppliers to improve throughput and reduce scrap.
• Create and maintain work instructions, setup sheets, and inspection documentation.
• Support NPI by validating machining processes and manufacturability reviews.
