Job summary

VPE Thermal, a leader in heat exchanger design and manufacturing, seeks an experienced Quality Manager to oversee QA/QC for fabrication in Sacramento. You will manage the QMS, drive continuous improvement, and lead audits with cross-functional teams.

The role requires ISO 9001/ASME compliance, 3+ years in a management position, and strong metrology and documentation skills. Engineering degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• ISO 9001 or similar quality management experience.
• Minimum three years in a management role with direct reports.
• Experience in writing procedures and work instructions.
• Strong metrology skills and ability to teach others.
• Ability to present to internal and external parties.
• SCWI or CWI Level II preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee QA, QC, and inspection of fabrication operations for heat exchangers.
• Manage and improve the company QMS in compliance with ASME, PED, CRN.
• Lead quality and inspection departments; develop skills and techniques.
• Coordinate MRB meetings and root cause analysis.
• Qualify suppliers and subcontractors' quality systems.
• Represent QA in audits and coordinate audit responses.
• Maintain ASME U stamps and NBIC R stamp programs.
• Oversee welding and NDT procedures and welder qualifications.
• Maintain welding records and related documentation.
• Provide QMS compliance training to other departments.
