Job summary

GTC Machining, LLC in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking a Quality Technician to perform final inspections and support machinists throughout the inspection process. You will verify conformance to customer specifications and document results per process.

Ideal candidates have at least 4 years in Quality Control or Machining, strong GD&T and blueprint reading skills, and experience with CMMs and ISO quality systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in Quality Control or Machining.
• Experience with optical comparator and profilometer required.
• Blueprint reading with GD&T and military specs understanding.
• Lean manufacturing and quality systems experience preferred (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485, AS9100D).
• CMM operation and troubleshooting; Zeiss Calypso preferred.
• Experience with ERP and quality software interfaces preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge and strong math background.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Team player who enjoys challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Review customer contract requirements and ensure they are met.
• Complete first article, in-process and final inspections using calibrated equipment.
• Calibrate and maintain precision measuring devices and track calibration dates.
• Review and complete shipping documentation to certify requirements are met.
• Process non-conforming product and assist in root cause analysis.
• Assist in training fellow employees to develop the workforce.
• Review customer specifications to establish correct inspection criteria.
• Perform preventative maintenance on inspection equipment.
• Complete job-related paperwork and production reporting.
• Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area per 6S guidelines.
• Complete internal 6S audits on schedule.
• Comply with safety practices and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
