Job summary

Our client in Manchester, CT seeks a meticulous Quality Inspector to verify tooling, fixtures, gages, and precision-machined parts meet specifications. You will perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment and GD&T principles, collaborating with machinists, engineers, and management.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in quality inspection within precision machining, strong reading of drawings, and experience with CMM inspection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years of quality inspection experience within a precision machining, tooling, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Working knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined components.
• Proficiency using precision measuring instruments.
• Experience with CMM inspection is highly preferred.
• Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on tooling, fixtures, gages, and precision-machined components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, customer specifications, and CAD prints.
• Inspect complex parts using precision measuring equipment including CMM, height gauges, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, optical comparator, surface plate.
• Verify dimensional accuracy, geometric tolerances, surface finishes, and overall conformance to specifications.
• Read and interpret Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Complete first article inspection reports, in-process documentation, and final inspection records.
• Identify nonconforming material and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and production personnel to resolve quality issues.
• Maintain inspection records and ensure traceability of quality documentation.
• Verify calibration status of inspection equipment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
