Job summary

Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation in Hauppauge, NY, seeks an Inspector-In-Process Sr. to perform advanced inspections of high‑voltage assemblies, read drawings, and verify conformance with quality standards.

You will lead First Article Inspections (FAIs), document nonconformities, and mentor junior inspectors in inspection methods and safety practices. 5 years of inspection experience and IPC-A-610 / IPC-WHMA-A-620 certification are required.

Qualifications

• 5 years of inspection experience
• Familiarity with advanced inspection tools
• Advanced understanding of schematics, wiring practices, insulation systems, and clearance/creepage requirements
• Required Certification: IPC-A-610 and IPC-WHMA-A-620 (current)
• Preferred Certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced inspections using measurement tools, gauges, and testing equipment
• Read drawings and instructions to understand quality expectations
• Verify in-process and final conformance on high-voltage assemblies
• Lead First Article Inspections (FAIs) and document results per AS9102 or equivalent
• Document nonconformities and prepare inspection reports
• Provide technical support to inspectors
• Support calibration and equipment verification
• Maintain inspection records per quality management system requirements
• Reject products not meeting quality standards
• Recommend process improvements for quality control
• Measure product dimensions and compare with specifications
• Prepare inspection process documentation and performance records
• Direct assembly adjustments to reflect quality standards
• Perform quality audits and ERP transactions
• Train Inspectors I-II on methods and procedures
• Train and mentor Inspectors I-II on inspection methods, test procedures, and safety practices
