Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a Quality Inspector to help ensure our aerospace products meet exacting demand requirements. The role supports incoming, in-process, and final inspections on the production line.

You will use spot-inspection, 1st-piece verification, 100% inspections as needed, and collaborate with Quality and Engineering to resolve non-conformities. The position requires hands-on use of inspection equipment and adherence to IPC standards and ISO AS9100.

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in quality assurance of electro-mechanical assemblies and inspections.
• Experience with incoming, in-process and final inspections, including customer source inspections.
• Able to spend long periods using a microscope.
• Experience with IPC Industry Standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality at production line level with spot-inspection, sampling, 1st-piece verification and 100% inspection as required.
• Verify compliance of in-process material against Customer and Industry Standards.
• Document accurately and collect records.
• Identify defects and non-conformities and work with Quality and Engineering to resolve.
• Investigate root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support first-piece verification runs with accompanying documents.
• Document non-conformities to process and specifications.
• Initiate regular quality line-audits for documentation, consumables, and tooling checks.
• Advocate proper ESD, PPE, FOD prevention, calibration, and ISO verifications.
• Operate appropriate inspection equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Identifies defects, deviations from specifications, and non-compliance issues, and collaborates theissues with Quality and Engineering team.
• Investigate root causes of non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Supporting first-piece verification runs with accompanying documents.
• Documentingnon-conformities to the process and specifications
• Initiating regular quality line-audits to ensure all documentation, consumables, and tooling are within check.
• Advocating proper ESD, PPE, and FOD prevention, calibration, and ISO compliance verifications.
• Operating appropriate inspection equipment

Required Qualifications:

• High-School Diploma or equivalent
• Typically requires 4+ years of experience in quality assurance of electro -mechanical (circuit card assembly) , bare PCB, mechanical Enclosures inspection in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting incoming, in-process and final inspections including customer source inspections.
• Physically able to spend up to 8 hours a day using a microscope.
• Experience with IPCIndustry Standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• J-STD-001 Class 3 and/or IPC 610 certified.
• Experience with MMIC technology (amplifiers, attenuators, filters, switches, etc).
• Experience working in an ISO-9001 and/or AS9100 Quality System environment.
• Ability to communicate openly and effectively to provide real-time feedback.
• Ability to work in a fast-pacedteam environment.
• Customer-Focused, \"Zero-Defect\" Mindset.
• Documentation abilities.
• Computer literacy.
• Industry-Relevant Quality Inspection or Control experience.
• Willingness to cross train in multiple Quality areas.
