Job summary

Walden Robotics is seeking a Member of Technical Staff to shape and implement the company’s quality system from the ground up. You’ll co-design the Quality Management System with manufacturing, hardware and supply chain to ensure robots are built to exacting standards.

You will work hands-on on inspection, root-cause analysis, supplier quality, and process improvement while guiding a growing quality team. This role blends strategy with bench work on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 8+ years in quality engineering for electromechanical hardware.
• Proven track record building or rebuilding a QMS.
• Expertise with DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, FAI, MSA/Gage R&R, SPC, GD&T and drawing interpretation.
• Supplier quality experience: audits, PPAP or FAI, sampling plans and SCARs.
• Experience leading quality programs and mentoring engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Define and co-design Walden’s Quality Management System with manufacturing, hardware, supply chain and operations.
• Write and release core procedures: document control, NCR, CAPA, calibration, internal audit and training records.
• Set up traceability and release processes; manage ECO changes with quality impact.
• Lead root-cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys, fishbone) and verify fixes hold.
• Define quality KPIs and report to the leadership team.
• Build a lean quality system sized for a startup with future certification in mind.
