Job summary

Deringer Ney is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer for our Bloomfield, CT location. The role focuses on applying, troubleshooting, and maintaining the company’s quality system while coordinating projects under the Quality Manager.

You will participate in product design reviews with emphasis on tolerances, GD&T, and inspection, and will mentor Quality Engineers and Technicians to ensure continual quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5+ years in quality in metals/related industry.
• Certification in quality management is preferred (CQE/CMQE) and ongoing training encouraged.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, PPAP, APQP, IP/OQ/PQ is desired.
• Strong cross-functional project leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand and enforce Quality System policies and procedures across the company.
• Maintain and improve Quality System through audits and corrective actions.
• Plan activities and coordinate with resources to complete projects on time.
• Prepare Quality Plans, sampling, and inspection procedures including PPAP, MSA, and CPk.
• Participate in design reviews focusing on tolerances, GD&T, and inspection techniques.
• Develop inspection techniques and gaging for repeatable results.
• Conduct process capability studies, DOE, gage R&R and related analyses.
• Lead and mentor Quality Engineers and Technicians.
• Perform supplier audits and supplier quality improvement projects.
• Engage in customer visits and assist in complaint resolution.
