Job summary

Leonardo DRS, Inc. in Melbourne, FL, seeks an Engineer III, Quality to lead quality planning and drive process improvements across manufacturing, test, and supplier teams.

You will translate customer requirements into disciplined quality execution and help teams improve performance, reduce risk, and strengthen compliance. You will guide audits, nonconforming material reviews, and corrective actions, working with cross‑functional teams to ensure robust quality from design through delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing quality, supplier quality, or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, ISO standards, Six Sigma tools, and statistical methods.
• Ability to define problems, identify root cause, and drive corrective action.
• Experience reviewing technical documentation to ensure quality requirements in engineering, test, and contractor deliverables.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and military requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality planning and execution for programs, translating requirements into quality activities.
• Drive process and product improvements across manufacturing, test, and supplier teams to reduce defects.
• Develop and implement quality system procedures, work instructions, controls, and quality plans.
• Analyze data, inspection results, and quality trends to identify issues and propose corrective action.
• Lead root cause and corrective action efforts, including audits and materials reviews.
• Interface with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality issues and communicate progress and results.
