Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Palmdale, CA is seeking a detail‑oriented Principal Quality Engineer to monitor mission assurance program specifications and processes, ensuring quality, risk management, safety and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors and suppliers.

You will collaborate with the Mission Assurance team to drive continuous improvement, interface with operations, program management and external customers, lead MRB submittals, review First Article Inspections and provide QA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in STEM with required experience.
• Experience with quality management systems to support program processes, audits, and improvements.
• Knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action methods.
• Knowledge of Inspection Plans and First Article Inspections.
• Excellent communication skills with senior leadership.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor mission assurance specifications and processes for program success.
• Interface regularly with operations, program management, engineering, and customers.
• Oversee MRB submittals and non-conformances; drive corrective actions.
• Ensure contract requirements are met and documentation is compliant.
• Review First Article Inspections and present to customer representatives.
• Provide Mission Assurance support across programs and cross‑functional teams.
• Lead quality and safety discussions with Government/DCMA representatives.
