Job summary

Ellaway Blues Consulting’s client, an established energy equipment company, seeks a Senior Quality Engineer to lead product and process quality across manufacturing, repair, and overhaul operations.

You will drive root cause, containment, and corrective actions, mentoring engineers and guiding cross-functional teams on quality improvements and audits. Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 8+ years in a quality engineering role in manufacturing, repair, or overhaul environment.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
• Proven experience leading NCR management, RCA/CAPA, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Strong analytical skills, turning yield, defect, and process capability data into actions.
• Ability to work across engineering, operations, and supplier teams and influence without direct authority.
• Fluency in English, including strong speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior quality contact for manufacturing engineering, production teams, and supplier quality.
• Work with production to analyze in-process defects, escapes, and process gaps, and provide real-time quality guidance on the floor.
• Partner with supplier quality engineers when vendor issues surface, driving containment, root cause verification, and corrective actions follow-up.
• Oversee nonconformance reports from open to close, and escalate recurring or high-impact issues.
• Lead root cause analysis and CAPA using structured problem-solving methods, then confirm fixes are effective.
• Track yield, defect trends, and process capability, and act on negative trends.
• Lead continuous improvement projects aiming for fewer defects, more stable processes, and better efficiency.
• Help keep site compliant with ISO 9001 and internal quality management system requirements, and support audits.
• Review and approve work instructions and process plans, including repair/overhaul work.
• Ensure approved process baselines stay controlled, and evaluate proposed changes through formal change control.
• Mentor less experienced quality engineers and raise problem-solving standards.
