Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer to partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Engineering in support of Flow and Valve products. This hybrid role reports to the Quality Engineering Manager and requires occasional on-site presence as needed.

Responsibilities include leading root cause analysis, driving continuous improvement with cross-functional teams, performing FMEA/Control Plans, applying SPC, and mentoring Kaizen/Six Sigma initiatives. Travel up to 5% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of Quality / Manufacturing Engineering experience.
• Customer / Supplier interaction experience.
• Experience with Quality and Reliability methodologies and tools such as 8D, FAI, FMEA, DMAIC, Gage R&R, DFx, DOE, Six Sigma.
• Familiarity with inspection methods, and analytical metrology plus the ability to use inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

• Apply strong problem-solving to determine root causes and implement robust 8D corrective actions.
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Support Design FMEA and Process FMEA as well as Control Plans.
• Use statistical methods to analyze data and implement action plans for process control using SPC.
• Coach and lead cross-functional teams for Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma improvement projects.
• Data analysis using Excel and Power BI.
• Perform internal and external QMS audits with timely closure of findings.
• Produce procedures, reports, training materials and quality records.
• Travel up to 5% of time.
