Job summary

Form Energy is hiring a Senior Quality Engineer to own quality processes for the cell assembly area on a high-automation, high-volume production line at our Weirton facility. You will develop and own quality methodologies, lead cross-functional teams, and partner with Design, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to address quality and manufacturability challenges throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3-10 years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing (P3: 3-5 years; P4: 5-10 years)
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Materials Science or related field; advanced degree a plus
• Solid experience with SPC, PFMEAs, and Control Plans
• Strong aptitude with electronic test and measurement systems
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
• Structured problem-solving (8D) and statistics (DOE, Cpk, Ppk)
• Proficiency with data analysis tools (JMP, R, Minitab, or equivalent)
• Experience in high-automation, high-volume manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of resistance or laser welding processes is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Own and drive quality processes and documentation for cell assembly, including Control Plans, PFMEAs, and inspection/test methods
• Lead change management and support process development experiments in cell assembly
• Regularly review PFMEAs and Control Plans to reflect changes and lessons learned
• Identify and resolve manufacturing quality issues via root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Drive continuous improvement with Design/Manufacturing Eng and suppliers
• Lead SPC activities to reduce variation on high-automation production lines
• Lead non-conforming material control for cell assemblies and sub-components
• Define, validate, and maintain quality controls and test methods for welding operations
• Partner with automation and equipment teams to embed quality controls in production systems
