Job summary

Form Energy is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to own electrode‑manufacturing quality processes, lead cross‑functional teams, and drive continuous improvement across the full product lifecycle from R&D through high‑volume production at our Weirton facility.

The role requires experience in SPC, PFMEAs, and control plans, plus strong data analysis and problem‑solving skills. Relocation assistance is available as we scale our American energy manufacturing footprint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree a plus.
• 3–10 years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Solid experience with SPC, PFMEAs, and Control Plans.
• Strong aptitude with electronic test and measurement systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Structured problem‑solving (8D) and statistical skills (DOE, Cpk, Ppk).
• Proficiency with data analysis tools such as JMP, R, or Minitab.
• Familiarity with electrode manufacturing processes (batch powder mixing, polymer processing, heat treatment, epoxy curing, or web handling).

Responsibilities

• Own and drive quality processes and documentation for electrode manufacturing (Control Plans, PFMEAs, inspection/test methods).
• Lead change management and support process development experiments across manufacturing steps.
• Regularly review PFMEAs and Control Plans to reflect changes and lessons learned.
• Lead identification and resolution of manufacturing quality issues (root cause analysis, corrective actions).
• Drive continuous improvement with Design/Manufacturing Engineering and suppliers.
• Lead SPC activities to reduce variation across electrode manufacturing operations.
• Lead nonconforming material control activities for electrode materials and sub‑components.
• Develop material characterization/testing protocols (TGA, DSC, powder characterization).
• Collaborate with process/product development to mitigate quality risks before production.
