Job summary

Barton Malow Company in Detroit seeks a Senior Quality Engineer to lead the quality program across self-perform work, subcontractors and vendors. The role emphasizes hands-on QA/QC, problem resolution and enforcement of standards on field projects.

You will mentor project teams, coordinate testing laboratories, and drive documentation and reporting to ensure quality from inspection through commissioning. The successful candidate will travel regionally as needed and partner with Project Managers

Qualifications

6+ years of construction QA/QC inspection experience.
Ability to lead quality programs with minimal oversight.
Strong written and verbal communication across trades and leaders.

Responsibilities

Lead and maintain the QC program per the Quality Manual and project documents.
Review and approve subcontractor quality programs, inspection/test procedures, and qualification records.
Ensure testing and inspections occur on schedule and establish witnesses/hold points.
Identify and control nonconformance items, including corrective action planning and verification.
Coordinate qualified testing laboratories and third-party inspectors to assure compliance.
Submit monthly quality reports identifying trends and KPI’s, maintain quality docs.
Partner with the Project Manager on all quality decisions.
Mentor junior staff and lead commissioning/startup involvement.
