Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure manufacturing processes and products meet established quality standards. You will design, implement, and maintain quality assurance practices within the quality management system (QMS).

You will analyze production data, collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve technical and production challenges, and perform 8D‑based investigations and CAPA planning. The role emphasizes RCCA findings and supplier quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and changing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with technicians building and testing products in a cleanroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality defect detection, reporting, and improvement programs.
• Support disposition of supplier quality issues in manufacturing by applying defined criteria and prioritizing issues for RCCA using a combination of recurrence, part value, and impact to operations.
• Conduct preliminary analysis of quality escapes to assign further investigation to the appropriate investigation function. Utilize 8D methodology to drive manufacturing‑owned escapes through root cause analysis and CAPA planning and execution.
• Ensure systematic solutions are fully deployed and presents RCCA findings to stakeholders.
• Monitor the quality of investigations and RCCA conducted by stakeholders, ensuring a high probability that issues will not recur in Manufacturing.
• Support Global Quality and GOPS quality projects, as well as Management System Assessments (audits).
• Perform GEMBAs on the manufacturing cleanroom floor and interviews technicians to investigate quality escapes and identify improvement opportunities.
