Job summary

Yahoo Sports is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to lead test strategy and automation across web and mobile platforms. You will architect scalable frameworks and AI-powered testing pipelines that generate test cases and data, while integrating all testing activities into CI/CD for reliable releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering/quality management or related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of professional experience in Quality Engineering or SDET with architectural leadership.
• Hands-on proficiency with AI-assisted development/testing tools.
• Deep expertise building modern test automation frameworks using Playwright, Appium, Cypress, Selenium.
• Strong programming skills in Python/TypeScript/Java and CI/CD integration.
• Experience with observability tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, Splunk).

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks across Web, mobile, API, and cloud services.
• Architect and deploy AI-driven test automation pipelines to auto-generate test cases and data.
• Build automated diagnostic engines using AI and observability tools to analyze failures and detect flaky tests.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines with deterministic quality gates for deployments.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product managers to embed testability and contract validation early in SDLC.
• Drive defect triage and release risk assessments using AI-assisted tools to map test coverage and trends.
• Establish enterprise quality standards and mentor senior QEs across Yahoo Sports.
