Job summary

AMETEK is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join the TMC team in the United States. You will lead quality assurance activities across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and sales to align quality with production schedules and customer requirements.

Responsibilities include supplier quality initiatives, NMR/MRB processes, root-cause analyses (8D, 5-Why), and developing quality metrics and dashboards to drive data-based decisions.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with fabricated sheet metal design and manufacturing practices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with electromechanical assembly and test practices.
  • Experience in the use of mechanical measuring instruments and drawing interpretation to perform complex inspections.
  • Experience in the use of electronic test equipment.
  • Ability to present data/information in a logical/organized manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 5-10 years hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier quality initiatives including supplier corrective actions (SCARs), supplier performance monitoring, supplier audits, and supplier development activities.
  • Own and facilitate the Nonconforming Material Report (NMR) and Material Review Board (MRB) processes to ensure timely disposition and closure.
  • Perform root cause analysis on nonconforming material & customer returns utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA, and CAPA processes.
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics and dashboards to identify trends, monitor process performance, and drive data-based decision making.
  • Perform final inspection activities for OEM products & first article prototype builds, including preparing formal inspection reports
  • Perform the QAE role for New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
  • Coordinate / conduct qualification activities on first article purchases (FAI).
  • Support TMC’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) with a focus on building a continuous improvement environment across the business
  • Perform internal ISO 9001 audits and support external audits
  • Assist with customer complaint investigations, corrective actions, and failure analyses, including product evaluation, data collection, and report preparation
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Assist in the preparation and revision of manufacturing work instructions.
  • Assist with in-process inspection in metal fabrication areas, such as machining centers, forming centers and welding, as needed.
  • Perform instrumented testing on TMC products and maintain measurements library.
  • Support product material compliance initiatives such as REACH, ROHS, WEEE, Conflict Minerals, etc.
