MPI in Irvine, CA is seeking a senior Quality Engineer to support quality initiatives across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers. This newly created role offers high visibility and a clear path toward future leadership responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will lead NPI quality activities, maintain QMS/ISO compliance, perform root-cause investigations, and drive continuous improvement across products and processes with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and minimum 4 years Quality Engineering experience
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO standards
  • Strong root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Experience with Supplier Quality and Customer Quality
  • Product validation and testing experience including First Article Inspections (FAI)
  • Knowledge of quality metrics and KPI analysis

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality engineering activities related to new product introductions and product launches
  • Support and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO compliance
  • Perform root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Partner with suppliers to improve quality performance and resolve quality concerns
  • Act as a customer-facing quality representative, supporting distributor and customer quality issues
  • Conduct product validation activities, testing, and First Article Inspections (FAI)
  • Analyze KPIs and quality metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, suppliers, and customers
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across products and processes

Description
  • Lead quality engineering activities related to new product introductions and product launches

Profile

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 4 years of Quality Engineering experience
  • Strong engineering background, preferably Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience with:
    • Quality Management Systems (QMS)
    • ISO standards and compliance
    • Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions
    • Supplier Quality and Customer Quality
    • Product validation and testing
    • First Article Inspection (FAI)
    • Quality metrics and KPI analysis
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • 10+ years of Quality Engineering experience
  • Electronics or electromechanical manufacturing background
  • Experience with electronic components, LED products, or related technologies
  • Plastic or silicone injection molding experience
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) experience
  • Reliability testing experience
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and GD&T
Job Offer
