Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer for a precision aerospace machining client. The role leads quality systems, drives root cause analysis, CAPA, and customer quality initiatives to ensure high-spec components meet stringent standards.

You will partner with Engineering and Operations to sustain AS9100 compliance, support FAI/PPAP, and work with suppliers to improve quality and process capability across complex programs for critical aerospace platforms.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Quality Engineering in aerospace/manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, PPAP and 8D problem solving.
  • Ability to interpret GD&T and support CMM measurement.
  • Experience partnering with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve quality.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with continuous improvement focus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead First Article Inspection (FAI) and PPAP submissions.
  • Perform structured problem solving (8D, 5-Why) and implement CAPAs.
  • Support AS9100, ITAR, and CMMC compliance; audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve quality and supplier development.
  • Be the technical quality resource for measurement systems and GD&T.
  • Lead continuous improvement to reduce scrap and rework.
  • Partner with Eng, Manufacturing, Operations to address quality challenges.
  • Analyze quality data to identify process improvements and risk reductions.

A Senior Quality Engineer who serves as a key leader in maintaining and improving quality systems for a precision machining manufacturer serving the aerospace industry. This role drives root cause analysis, corrective actions, customer quality initiatives, and AS9100 compliance while partnering with Engineering and Operations to ensure complex aerospace components consistently meet the highest standards for quality, reliability, and regulatory requirements.

Description
  • Lead First Article Inspection (FAI) and PPAP submissions from start to finish, ensuring timely approvals and a strong first-pass success rate.
  • Investigate quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and 5-Why, implementing sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support AS9100, ITAR, and CMMC compliance efforts while maintaining ongoing audit readiness across the organization.
  • Partner with suppliers to strengthen quality performance, drive corrective actions, and support supplier qualification and development activities.
  • Serve as a technical quality resource for measurement systems, GD&T interpretation, CMM results, and inspection requirements for critical aerospace components.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce scrap, minimize rework, improve process capability, and streamline inspection activities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to address quality challenges and ensure consistent product performance.
  • Analyze quality data and trends to proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and risk reduction.
Profile
  • 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience within aerospace, precision machining, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 (First Article Inspection), PPAP, and structured corrective action methodologies, including 8D and root cause analysis.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex GD&T requirements and support dimensional validation through CMM programming, review, and measurement system analysis.
  • Experience partnering with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations teams to drive quality improvements and resolve production challenges.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset focused on reducing defects, scrap, and rework.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
