Job summary

Qualifications

At Materion, everyone is included, respected and offered opportunity to grow. Join us! Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Senior Quality Engineer will be actively involved with the QMS, with the aim of meeting or exceeding quality objectives and improving customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Aides in developing metrics that track and report status of the overall business Quality System (i.e. Cost of Quality, customer complaints, product non-conformances, etc).
  • Project leader for Problem Solving Processes (8D, 5 Why, 7D, etc) to resolve Customer complaints, Customer audit findings or Return Material Authorizations in a timely manner that prevents reoccurrence.
  • Drive process quality improvements working with Process Engineering through the implementation of automated process controls, SPC, sampling systems, enhanced manufacturing procedures and utilization of statistical techniques.
  • Maintains the Nonconforming Material Process and develops actions to reduce non-conformances through Lean and Six Sigma techniques.
  • Member of customer audits and customer visit teams.
  • Acts as a back-up to the Quality Manager or Quality Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field required (metallurgy, material science, chemistry or chemical engineering degree preferred).
  • Lean and or Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred or 2-3 years of Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Project Management experience preferred.
  • Preferred experience and knowledge of manufacturing systems, the quality function and technical products.
  • Further experience with calibration, metrology and quality system auditing will be beneficial.
Salary

Pay Range: $87,100.00 - $130,700.00. Actual base salary offered varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.

Export Compliance and Eligibility

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
