Job summary

Baker Concrete Construction, Inc. in Colonial Heights, VA is seeking a Quality Control Manager to direct all site quality control activities and manage the inspection staff. Typically certified as Inspector Level II or III in various disciplines.

You will oversee testing procedures, train personnel, maintain records, and collaborate with project teams to achieve zero-defect results while maintaining safety and quality goals on complex concrete projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, scientific, or construction-related discipline from an accredited college or university and 8 years related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of construction practices (i.e., formwork, rebar, concrete placing, etc.).
• Quality assurance-related experience preferably in the nuclear power industry (DOE/DOD facilities).
• Quality inspector experience.
• Demonstrated skill and knowledge with applicable quality codes and standards preferably NRC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Directs all site quality control activities and manages the inspection staff.
• Supervises, trains, evaluates, and develops direct reports to ensure maximum return on investment.
• Addresses complaints appropriately.
• Provides guidance, direction, coaching, and support to direct reports to maximize performance.
• Takes appropriate action to develop direct reports including performance appraisals and career development plans.
• Conducts department staff meetings and participates in policy and procedure development.
• Collaborates with HR to ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
